Position Summary
Position handles all aspects of purchasing for research division, providing monthly/quarterly reports of expenses.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Processes travel advances; reviews supporting documentation and submits travel expense reports on a timely basis.
  • Reviews and processes Procard transactions for approval.
  • Processes internal and external invoices.
  • Provides entry and reconciliation support for annual budget process. Monitors account balances, maintains open encumbrances, processes journals and budget adjustments.
  • Prepares financial, budget and general reports, as requested.
  • Process misc. payments to subjects compensated for participation in clinical trials.
  • May work with HR/payroll coordinator to ensure accurate entry and maintenance of HR data for faculty, students, postdocs and staff.
  • Provides general office support.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.   

Working Conditions

  • This is a hybrid position with one to two days in the office, Monday through Friday.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College coursework and three years’ related experience.
  • Experience in higher education administration.
  • Experience with Workday system.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to learn new software systems and technology skills.
  • Ability to integrate information from multiple sources, utilize creative thinking and exercise considerable judgment and resourcefulness.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented individual.
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy and consistency while meeting deadlines with varying degrees of pressure.
  • Possesses a strong work ethic and determination.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Analytical skills.
  • General knowledge of fund accounting.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Required Qualifications

Equivalent of High school diploma, with some college accounting course work, and five years of experience in accounting/purchasing, or the equivalent of five years of related college level education and experience in accounting, finance, purchasing and/or bookkeeping.

G06-H

Salary Range
$17.52 – $26.27 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
