Position Summary
Provides day-to-day operational accounting support for department.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Accounting/Financial Systems
- Initiates/reviews for approval purchasing transactions for all contractor engagements, maintaining documentation for each.
- Processes and tracks all invoices related to contractor engagements, maintaining a spreadsheet of activity and balances.
- Contacts vendors to adjust, obtain or process contracts and invoices as necessary.
- Initiates/reviews for approval all purchasing transactions eligible for blanket order processing.
- Processes and tracks all invoices related to blanket orders, maintaining a spreadsheet of activity and balances.
- Reviews procurement card transactions for university compliance; code for accurate budget reporting for all cardholders.
- Alerts cardholders of prohibited practices/purchases; resolve by cardholder reimbursement deposit.
- Finishes review for approval.
- Processes travel advances and check requests for travel; reviews supporting documentation and submits approval-ready travel expense reports on a timely basis per university/funding agency guidelines.
- Processes internal and external invoices.
- Processes inter-departmental invoices, obtaining approvals, keying appropriate accounting codes and tracking as appropriate.
- Reviews reimbursement requests for appropriate university funding allocation & budget coding.
- Advises on compliance issues & resolve, prior to processing.
- Enters requisitions into the Marketplace purchasing system and monitor purchasing processes as requested.
Budget
- Provides reconciliation support for annual budget process.
- Monitors account balances, maintains open encumbrances, process journals and budget adjustments.
- Assists and provides back-up support as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma and two years of experience.
Grade
G08-H
Salary Range
$20.76 – $32.21 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
