Under the guidance of the CFO, the Accounting & Financial Controlling Manager is responsible for the accounting and controlling management and oversight of Nipro Medical Europe (NME). The position involves the leading of a team of accountants (GL/AP) based in Mechelen serving the operational holding NME as well as a series of central served smaller branches & subsidiaries.

This function acts as the accounting and financial controlling center of excellence for the NME-group, closely collaborating with the CFO Medical and other key finance stakeholders within the group, to further increase, maintain and propagate the professional standards, processes and procedures.

Furthermore the role involves acting as SAP S4/HANA and SAC-Reporting Key User thereby bridging design & enhancements with provided guidance.

What You’ll do

• Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals thereby fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture leading to timely and qualitative closings;
• Control the monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities to meet BEGAAP/IFRS reporting timeliness:
  • Monitor & enforce adherence to group closing calendar EMEA (payroll, AP, AR, Accruals, etc.);
  • Resolve queries from local and overseas teams related to accounting principles and group reporting framework;
  • Seek alignment with regional finance managers, consolidation manager, FP&A and CFO to uphold the quality and timeliness of the reported financials;
  • Identify and implement policy and process improvements from a financial controlling perspective;
  • Day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, compliance and adherence to Group Accounting Principles, Accounting Policies and Standard Operating Practices;
  • The business landscape to identify the need for change or enhancement in accounting practices;
  • Identify and implement policy and process improvements to meet changes in close alignment with key finance stakeholders.
• Act as a single point of contact regarding accounting matters and act as SAP FICO Subject Matter Expert within the EMEA finance community;
• Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations, ensuring the company’s compliance with relevant laws and standards.

What You’ll need

• Minimum Bsc in accounting or finance or economy or business administration or equivalent by experience;
• At least 10 years of experience in accounting and/or controlling;
• Proven track record in people management;
• Experience with BEGAAP and IFRS;
• Strong experience of SAP FICO, SAP 4/Hana and SAC Reporting.
