Position Details

The Department of Accounting in the John H. Sykes College of Business at The University of Tampa is seeking applications for part-time instructors to teach undergraduate financial accounting and managerial accounting courses (ACC 202 and ACC 203). Candidates should be willing to teach both courses.

Responsibilities will include:

1.  Teach one or two course(s) per semester.

2.  Create syllabus for students each semester to include learning objectives consistent with The University and the College of Business mission statement (course objectives and sample syllabi provided).

3.  Provide meeting time for students.

4.  Manage online/paperwork grading system, including training prior to first semester of teaching.

5.  Meet with the course coordinator and/or department chair.

The successful candidates will have:

1.  At least a Master’s degree in Accounting.

2.  Significant experience as a professional accountant.

3.  Active professional designation is preferred (CPA, CMA, etc).

4.  Teaching experience preferred.

Applications for part-time positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the department chair when openings become available. Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis, which may include fall, spring and summer.
