Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Accounting Manager the Accounts Associate is responsible for the overall warehouse accounting and other accounting tasks performed by AICU, the position is responsible for ongoing, accurate, and timely recording and analytical work related to but not limited to warehouse accounting.

Processes invoices and other transactions in accordance with UNICEF’s Financial Rules and Regulations, and third-party requirements.
Processes, reviews, and analyzes SAP transactions, payments and account balances for area of responsibility, identifies and initiates required adjustments. Performs financial accounting and analysis for the Unit using a MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
Attends to queries by suppliers and other business units and follow up on outstanding issues by communicating in email and phone.
Prepares financial reports/schedules for internal management, external partners and other third parties (in MS Excel, MS Word, SAP). Prepares exception reports and / or periodic reports statements, summaries analyses. Prepares documentation and work papers to areas of responsibility.
Reconciles Supply Division’s controlled materials in accordance with Divisional Procedure 41.
Monitors and ensures systems and reports comply with UNICEF’s Financial Rules and Regulations, and third-party requirements.
Identifies and recommends system and process improvements identified during performance of duties and responsibilities.
Performs other ad hoc tasks in related areas as required and provide back up support to colleagues within the respective unit.

To qualify as a Champion for every Child you will have…

Requirements:

Completion of Secondary school.
A minimum of Six (6) years of broad accounting experience.
Good knowledge of MS Office package, particularly Excel.
Fluency in English.

Desirables:

University-level courses in accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Service Management, Business Communication, or other related disciplines
Experience in SAP financial modules or other ERP systems.
Proficiency in another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish).
Experience working in an international/ governmental (non-profit) organization.
