Job Description

You are an electronic or computing engineer interested in magnet testing, measurement procedures, acquisition software, and development operations.

As an Acquisition Software and Testing Engineer, you will:

• Perform magnetic measurements, analyze results, and prepare measurement reports;
• Maintain and develop acquisition software for magnetic measurements;
• Create infrastructure to share measurement results, reports and postprocessing procedures;
• Knowledge management: store measurement data, integrate traceable procedures for measurement systems.

Who we are looking for

Skills and/or knowledge

• Knowledge of instrumentation and measurement techniques, data acquisition and control systems;
• Knowledge of programming (C++, Python);
• Knowledge of versioning using git, project maintenance using GitLab (issue tracking, versioning);
• Knowledge of Development operations (CI/CD, integration, OpenShift) is a plus;
• Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

• You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
• By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Electrical or computer engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
• Applicants without a university degree are not eligible.
• Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
