Reporting to the Director of Primary Health Care Improvement, the Quality Improvement Partnerships Manager plays a pivotal role in the implementation and assessment of NWMPHN’s Primary Health Care Improvement Strategy. This role involves supporting primary healthcare providers in delivering patient-centred, high-quality care and leading the implementation of quality initiatives, health reforms, and improvement efforts.

We are North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN), Victoria’s largest independent, locally governed and run, not-for-profit PHN, dedicated to improving primary health care in our community.
What are PHNs?
PHNs have been established with two key objectives:
- Increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of services for community members, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes
- Improving coordination of care to ensure people receive the right care in the right place, at the right time.
A typical week may include:
- Leading the team to engage with primary care and deliver quality improvement projects in general practice
- Overseeing and managing the design and delivery of all activities relating to implementation of quality improvement projects in primary care
- Ensuring primary health care providers are engaged in a manner reflecting the NWMPHN primary care engagement strategy, NWMPHN primary health care stakeholder engagement framework, and primary health care leadership framework
- Coordinating the development and delivery of stakeholder engagement processes and capacity building initiatives, such as workshops, forums and meetings
- Implementing the broader PHN and national primary care reform agenda including changes and reforms that impact general practice
We are looking for someone who has:
- Tertiary qualifications in public health, social science, or health related discipline
- Relevant experience in quality improvement, primary health care and general practice settings
- Demonstrated experience in using project management methodologies
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and an ability to form effective professional relationships and networks with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated high quality written and oral communication and presentation skills, particularly for a health audience
