How you’ll make a difference

As Activities Delivery Officer, you will form part of our Kingswood Park Project Delivery Team
and will be responsible for the delivery of our 3-year Activities Action Plan. You will have
the opportunity to deliver a full, varied and innovative programme of activities to engage park
users and the wider Kingswood community, providing a green space where people come together to
participate in events and activities in a relaxing and safe, well managed and welcoming
environment for all.

South Gloucestershire Council has secured delivery phase funding from The National Lottery
Heritage Fund (the Heritage Fund) to progress our plans for the restoration and enhancement
Kingswood Park in South Gloucestershire. The Heritage Fund grant awarded is £2,671,735, with a
total project delivery cost of £3,360,857 over 3 years. 

What will you be doing?

  • Working alongside the Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the planning
    and delivery of our fully costed Activities Action Plan for Kingswood Park, with a total budget
    value of £374,000.
  • You will work with a variety of partner organisations, community groups, schools, youth
    groups, residents, local businesses, and the public, to deliver the Kingswood Park Activities
    Plan.
  • It will be your responsibility to monitor and record activities against identified targets
    and measures of success, working with the project delivery team and Evaluation Consultant,
    ensuring positive and lasting change for people and communities.
  • You will work closely with and assist the Kingswood Park Health & Wellbeing Activities
    Officer as required, in the delivery of health and wellbeing activities as set out in the
    Action Plan.
  • In this role you will also work closely with the Friends of Kingswood Park and the wider
    Kingswood community, nurturing relationships to support the efficient and effective delivery of
    the project. 

What we need from you

  • It is essential that you have, or are working towards, a relevant degree or equivalent
    qualification in landscape, environmental management, community engagement, outdoor education
    field or similar, or have equivalent relevant experience.
  • We require you to be able to demonstrate specialist knowledge and have substantial
    experience in the delivery of community engagement activities.
  • You will have experience of community and stakeholder engagement and working with a variety
    of partner organisations, community groups, volunteers, and schools.
  • It is essential you have experience of project management, organising and delivering events
    and can contribute to the management of budgets and resources.
  • You must be able to work to deadlines and supervise the work of volunteers and
    contractors. 

Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that a
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.

This 3-year full time role is funded by the Heritage Fund grant awarded for Kingswood
Park. We are open to a discussion for the suitability of a job share / flexible
working.

The role is suitable for office/home working and will require regular delivery on site in
Kingswood. A driving licence and transport is essential.
