Summary of Job Duties:
This non-tenure-track Lecturer position within the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Education will lead course instruction, provide curriculum material, construct syllabi, create and administer exams, test, and provide other scholastic achievement guidance. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
Job Duties and/or Responsibilities:
- Meet classes as scheduled; notify the appropriate Chair, Associate Dean, or Dean in advance if they are to be absent, and, if possible, arrange for a substitute instructor or assignments for his or her class;
- Be accessible to students through e-mail and Blackboard with scheduled office hours including arranging, when necessary, additional time for appointments;
- Prepare and distribute syllabi in accordance with established procedures and guidelines and follow the published final exam schedule;
- Maintain accurate records of student’s academic standing; promptly provide student feedback, grades, attendance, and other information as required by the administration;
- Evaluate students based solely on their academic performance and to respond promptly student grade questions and/or appeals;
- Respect the confidentiality of student information; comport with FERPA requirements;
- Other duties as assigned
