The OUHSC Office of Admissions & Records is looking for either an Admissions Specialist or a Senior Admissions Specialist. The best candidate will be a self-motivated, dynamic individual with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills who will represent the university to prospective students. You will help forward the mission of the university by bringing individuals from around the nation to be a part of the Sooner Family.

What you will do:

  • Provide support to incoming domestic and international transfer, graduate and professional applicants and readmitted students as they navigate the college and national applications and decision process.
  • Apply complex policies and procedures to process applications for admission to the university including the evaluation of academic and supporting credentials.
  • Advise applicants, students and families regarding educational opportunities and options, admission and other requirements, policies and procedures, and transfer of credit.

Job Requirements

 

Requirements:

To be considered for an Admissions/Recruitment Specialist, the applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree.

To be considered for a Senior Admissions/Recruitment Specialist, the applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree AND 36 months experience recruiting students for college programs, student services, or other closely related experience in a higher education environment.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree for either position.

Certifications:

  • Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical: Ability to bend, lift, stoop and carry.  Ability to engage in repetitive motions.
  • Environmental: Standard office environment. Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies. Requires contact with other departments and university officials. Willingness to work extended and weekend hours during peak periods.          

Departmental Preferences:

  • Previous experience in Higher Education Admissions
  • Experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft
