THE ROLE
In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your exceptional member services skills and passion for people to make a real difference in the lives of healthcare workers.
The core objective of this position is to provide exceptional service on all matters relating to our members’ membership with the HSU, responding to their enquiries via phone and email, processing new member applications, ensuring accurate database management and processing payments.
Our ideal candidate will be customer-focused, with strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. Experience or demonstrated understanding of general financial bookkeeping and/or basic accounting. Prior experience working in a similar role will be highly regarded.
The successful candidate will be allowed to have a hybrid working arrangement (work-from-home and in-office); the role can be entirely office-based if requested. The role is casual, and it is expected to be roughly 6-24 hours a week outside of peak periods. Hours can be worked flexibly throughout the week; however, availability on Wednesdays and Thursdays is essential.

ABOUT THE HSU SA/NT BRANCH
The Health Services Union South Australia/Northern Territory Branch (HSU SA/NT) is a specialist industry union representing workers in the health and community services sectors.
HSU SA/NT members are employed at hundreds of worksites across both South Australia and the Northern Territory. These worksites include public and private hospitals, pathology laboratories and collection centres, private practices, and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations. HSU members are allied health professionals, medical scientists, phlebotomists, medical couriers, Aboriginal health workers and clerical and administrative staff.

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the HSU SA/NT Employee Enterprise Agreement 2024 – 2025.
The position is based in our office in Parkside, SA, with remote work available. Please also advise this in your cover letter if you have a preference for the days and hours of work.
