The Department
Respiratory Medicine within the Alfred Hospital requires an administrative support person for its Lung Transplant Service. This role is to undertake administrative duties within Lung Transplant Service including high level administrative support for clinics, patient appointments, looking at clinical workflows, billing and general administrative duties.
The Role
- To undertake Secretarial/Receptionist duties within RES1 including administrative support for clinics, patient appointments, billing and general administrative duties.
- To contribute to the operational efficiency of the Respiratory Medicine secretarial/administrative support team.
- Management of clinical workflows
- Be the backup point of Senior contact for the entire RES1 clinic booking scheduling when the other administrative staff are on leave.
- Database management
- Other duties as required
Qualifications/Experience Required
- Strong organisational and customer service skills and demonstrated computer efficiency are essential, as is the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment
- Excellence in written and oral communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail is also required
- Experience working within a medical environment and familiarity with medical terminology will be highly regarded, however, applicants with strong administrative skills from other fields will also be considered.
