Your new role

At Sacred Heart Mission, our incredible programs are powered by the dedication of our amazing volunteers (900+ Active)! The Volunteer Program has an opportunity available for a 6-month max-term part-time (with possibility of extension) role as Administrative Officer, 2 days per week, to come on board and help keep everything running smoothly.

From welcoming new volunteers with seamless recruitment and induction to ensuring compliance, managing rosters, and supporting farewells, you’ll handle the admin magic that keeps the volunteer journey rewarding and stress-free.

A typical day would be:

  • Answering phone and email inquiries from volunteers or Sacred Heart Mission programs.
  • Updating databases with accurate information.
  • Following up with Volunteer compliance.
  • Keep all documents filed and sorted.
  • Prep for upcoming meetings and presentations.

You’ll have the chance to build strong relationships with program staff (including connecting closely with our 14 Op Shops) volunteers, and community members all in one!

We’re looking for someone with

  • Strong computer and internet skills – especially MS Office.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with volunteers across a wide array of programs.
  • Ability to multitask and manage several competing priorities.
  • Ability to work fast under pressure while being extremely accurate.
  • A solutions-focused approach.

You can look forward to

  • 6-month contract, two days per week (with possibility to extend).
  • Flexible working arrangements, with days that suit you.
  • Hourly rate of $34.42-$37.55 (Depending on qualifications and experience).
  • Generous leave entitlements including 17.5% leave loading, wellbeing leave, and gender affirmation leave.
  • Salary packaging expenses like your rent, holiday accommodation and dining out: up to $15,990 pre-tax.
  • Professional and career development opportunities, including participation in organisation-wide initiatives.
  • Accessing the Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme.
