Location: Anbar, Iraq

Report to: Provincial engagement Manager.

 

Activity Overview: Chemonics International, a US-based international development consulting firm, seeks a Logistics Assistant for the USAID Iraq Together Activity. Iraq Together aims to provide more equitable, efficient, and sustainable public services in Iraq, as well as improving government responsiveness to citizens’ needs and demands. Objectives of this project include working with the Government of Iraq (GOI) to improve service delivery and strengthen democratic and participatory governance.

 

Position Overview: Administrative and Logistics Assistant will primarily focus on ensuring the operational needs are met. This role will also provide logistical support for events and workshops, ensuring smooth operations and handling associated administrative tasks.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to ensure the functionality of provincial offices
  • Assist with event and workshop arrangements, including handling hotel and venue reservations, collecting attendance sheets, and coordinating logistics.
  • Supporting stipend allocation and disbursement for event participants.
  • Creating Purchase Acquisition Requests (PARs) for office supplies and workshop needs.
  • Prepare Travel Authorization for Visiting STTA (consultants) and LTTA (employees) staff
  • Performing all logistical tasks related to the office and the project.
  • Assisting with events in other provinces as needed.
  • Other logistical duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required. Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, preferably with international NGOs.
  • Strong command of English and ability to engage in conversations.
  • Excellent communication in Arabic and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, organized, and detail oriented.
  • Good knowledge of computer programs and in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
