Position Title Administrative Assistant I

Position Information The Physical Plant Department invites applications for a twelve month, full-time position.
Responsibilities
  • Edits, formats, and revises a variety of documents and materials created by others.
  • Proofreads for grammatical, typographical and basic content errors.
  • Composes responses to routine inquiries in accordance to general instructions
  • Develops, implements, and maintains paper and electronic filing systems which meet department needs and satisfy requirements for retention and information security.
  • Enters, updates, and retrieves information as needed; screens telephone calls and visitors. Schedules and coordinates meetings and appointments.
  • Makes travel arrangements following general instructions and campus procedures.
  • Performs necessary follow-up for vouchers, expense reports, and reimbursements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years’ experience providing administrative support
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
  • Must be organized and detailed oriented.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures, practices & protocol.
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment.
  • Skilled in various computer software packages.
  • Skilled in effective communication both oral and written.
  • Ability to provide a high level of confidentially.
