Normal Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant I provides administrative support for the operations of unit. Performs routine and well documented administrative tasks. Acts as office liaison/receptionist. Receives and routes phone calls, emails, and/or guests. Maintains files and enters data. Operates standard office equipment such as personal computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.

Additional Department Summary: The Administrative Assistant is assigned to the Educational Studies department and will work with the Department Head, Laboratory Head (Educational Neuroscience), Director of the Center for Moral and Ethical Development, as well as other faculty within the department. Maintains the departmental budget, tracks expenditures for all Strategic Initiatives and daily tasks, tracks budget transfers from collaborating partners across campus for shared events; assists with the preparation of budget requests for health promotion needs. Helps prepare presentations for various recruitment visits on and off campus as well as regional and national events, with the use of PowerPoint skills. Serves as a liaison between this department and other departments and offices on campus. Will have a part in planning and securing all logistics of on campus events from the department with multiple departmental/organizational partners across campus monthly. Manages the schedules and supervision of graduate assistants and student workers/work-study students.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Banner and UA Policies and Procedures
