Job Summary
Administrative Assistant will submit and process reimbursements for various lab and faculty members in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. The assistant will provide guidance and information on UC reimbursements policies related to travel, meeting/entertainment and other non-payroll reimbursements. As a basic science department, the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry has a high volume reimbursements related to faculty and learner attendance at scientific conferences, seminar speaker meeting/entertainment events as well as recruitment events. A dedicated position will ensure that all reimbursements are processed in a timely manner.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Please note: An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

Department Description
The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is one of three departments in the UCSF School of Pharmacy and is under the administrative oversight of the Department Chair, Michelle Arkin. Through research and teaching, the Department seeks to understand the biological principles of small molecules, proteins, and cellular design, and to apply these principles for the therapeutic benefit of patients.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduation and four years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MyExpense, UCSF financial policies, practices and systems
