The Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital Ltd. (NRWH) is a non-for-profit charitable entity, building a permanent wildlife hospital dedicated to the care of Australian native animals. Operated by a highly experienced Veterinary team, the hospital facility will offer triage, intensive and intermediate in-patient and out-patient care and short-term rehabilitation.
The NRWH has an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Administrative Assistant with experience to provide administrative support to the overall operations of the hospital and its Directors.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The following key responsibilities apply:
- Monitor and manage the main email account;
- Maintain a calendar of activities and statutory obligations/due dates;
- Provide support to the Board and its committees, drafting and distributing agendas & minutes;
- Attending scheduled meetings and NRWH events, sometimes out of regular business hours;
- Assist with organising AGMs and Strategic Planning Days;
- Draft correspondence as directed by the General Manager or Board;
- Assist the Fundraising Manager with newsletters, press releases and social media accounts and support grant applications where needed;
- Assist the General Manager to recruit, train and manage the volunteer program;
- General management of NRWH IT requirements (or sourcing external contractors for these tasks where needed);
- Manage the main NRWH database, website and CRM platform;
- Manage NRWH members, friends and subscribers;
- General administrative duties.
ABOUT YOu
The following key criteria apply:
- Formal qualification in a relevant discipline or studying towards the same;
- Experience in a similar role working in a members based or NFP organisation;
- High level of personal accountability, self-initiative, and a can-do attitude;
- A willingness to sometimes work outside of regular business hours;
- High level oral and written communication skills;
- Highly organised with attention to detail;
- Proven ability to build and tend to constructive and effective relationships with a range of stakeholders;
- Strong computer literacy in the Microsoft Office suite, social media apps, Google Suite, and knowledge of HubSpot and Canva will be highly regarded;
- Commitment to NRWH’s vision and values together with an understanding of and an interest in wildlife conservation.
