The lab of Dr. Roy Parker at the University of Colorado Boulder is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to support day-to-day operations. The Parker lab addresses the regulation of RNA molecules, how that impacts normal physiology of eukaryotic cells, and how aberrant RNA regulation contributes to human disease. The major focuses in the lab are in three areas: regulation of RNA degradation, understanding the RNA chaperone network, and understanding the connections of RNA and Tau. About the Administrative Coordinator role:
You will hold an integral role within the lab – providing and coordinating the day-to-day administrative support involved in running the lab and serving as both a collaborative partner to Dr. Parker and the primary liaison between the lab and various external partners (CU administrative offices, HHMI science operations offices, etc.). The successful candidate will have a background in operations and/or administrative support and be committed to fostering a collaborative, thoughtful work environment. This role is best fit for someone who is a self-starter and proactive in their support style – and someone who is passionate about the research work that the lab is conducting.
The lab is flexible to consider applicants who would prefer a full-time work schedule and applicants who would prefer a part-time work schedule.

What you’ll do:
-
Provide support to Dr. Parker with travel coordination, calendar management, letter writing/sending, and proofreading.

Assist with graphic design for presentations, manuscripts and grants.

Update Dr. Parker’s CV, the lab database, and the online bibliography.

Work with partners at HHMI and CU to support all HR personnel-related activities (appointments, reviews, recruiting/hiring, visas, lab visitors, volunteers, etc.) and administrative functions.

Process meeting registrations, reimbursements, and publication charges for Dr. Parker and lab team members.

Manage lab supplies and inventory purchasing process.

Monitor financial status of grants and speedtypes. Resolve discrepancies and assist in all aspects from setup to closeout.

Support teaching activities, class preparation, online posting to class, and grading.

Reconcile on-campus spending account and process reimbursement payments.

Complete annual reporting required by CU.
What you bring:

A bachelor’s degree is required. Applicants with graduate degrees are also welcome to apply.

Previous administrative experience in academia or a research/science environment would be a plus.

Compensation Range:
Administrative Assistant II – $47,600 (minimum) – $59,439 (midpoint) – $77,300 (maximum)
Administrative Coordinator – $62,900 (minimum – $78,636 (midpoint) – $102,200 (maximum)
Pay Type: Annual
HHMI’s salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate’s education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
Physical Requirements
Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about workspace.
