The Max-Born Institute for Nonlinear Optics and Short Pulse Spectroscopy (MBI) conducts basic research in the field of nonlinear optics and ultrafast dynamics arising from the interaction of light with matter and pursues applications that emerge from this research. It develops and uses ultra-fast and ultra-intense lasers and laser-driven short-pulse light sources in a broad spectral range in combination with methods of nonlinear spectroscopy. With its research, MBI fulfils a national mission and is an integral part of the international scientific community.

For the preparation and administrative support of EU-funded research projects we are looking for an

administrator of third-party funds / financial project assistant (f/m/d)

at the earliest possible date.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial project management for the administration of third-party funds for EU projects, in particular project monitoring and financial management,
  • Travel cost reimbursements,
  • Support for researchers in project applications, monitoring compliance with funding regulations,
  • Preparation of financial statements and reports on expenditure, preparation of project reviews and audits,
  • Project correspondence in English and administrative “help-desk” for the project partners, preparation of information.

Requirements:

Extensive knowledge and practical experience in the administration and accounting of third-party funded projects (in particular by the EU), proficient use of IT tools (MS-Office, especially Excel, SAP), excellent English language skills, good mathematical understanding, high attention to detail and accuracy, communication skills, service orientation, organisational strength.
