The Admissions Office is responsible for all admissions to UCL’s undergraduate and graduate degrees, affiliate and Teacher Training programmes. It handles approximately 160,000 applications per cycle and is responsible for admitting approximately 20,000 students in each academic year. The Admissions function is critical in ensuring that UCL secures the desired number of students to meet UCL’s aspirations in terms of securing and maintaining a well-qualified, balanced student body and associated tuition fee income, currently in excess of £300 million per annum.

UCL is embarking on a transformation programme for Admissions to ensure that its future admissions operation, policy and processes are fit for purpose and can cope with the increasing demands placed upon it.

We are looking to recruit an Admissions Manager to assist the Director of Access and Admissions in undertaking the business transformation of UCL’s admissions processes, policies and systems. Key duties of the role will include the drafting of policies and procedures, as well as working with academic departments on streamlining their selection processes.

This is an internal secondment role, available to current UCL staff only and will be fixed-term until 31 December 2024 in the first instance.

If you have any queries about the role, please contact Lucy Ghost at: [email protected]

Educated to honours degree level or equivalent, the successful applicant will have proven managerial and supervisory experience with the ability to lead staff and successfully deliver processes. They will have student admissions experience within a Higher Education setting and, ideally, knowledge of the SITS student information system.

You will have excellent leadership and management skills, including the ability to prioritise work and think clearly and work calmly to meet service standards under pressure. Excellent organisational skills, as well as a proactive and practical approach to problem solving, are key requirements of the role.
