Job description
The A2ii is a unique global partnership working with insurance supervisors, development agencies, international insurance bodies and local entities with the mission to inspire and support insurance supervisors in promoting inclusive and responsible insurance. Our activities include knowledge generation, supervisory capacity building and advocacy in international forums. Created in 2009, the A2ii is the implementation partner of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) for financial inclusion. The A2ii enjoys the support of numerous partners and sponsors, including the IAIS, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. The Secretariat of the A2ii is hosted by GIZ and will leave GIZ in July 2025. The new set up is not yet decided upon, but it is exepcted that the new team member will stay with a2ii and not with GIZ.
Your tasks
- Co-Leaderhip of a thematic portfolio which includes Development of Topic, Identification of Needs and Demands , Development of A2ii Service Offer, Positioning of A2ii / Network, Knowledge Management, Fundraising
- Research and create knowledge on regulation and supervision with a focus on inclusive insurance and emerging risks, including insurance in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals
- Take the lead on different A2ii capacity building formats and instruments, including virtual dialogue events, online training modules, webinars and in-person trainings and workshops
- Provide commitemnt to support the implementation of other activities in the team on topics such as Inlcusive Insurance Fundamentas, InsurTech, Gender and / or Climate Risk/ Disaster Risk Management etc.
- Travelling (20-30% is required)
Your profile
- Master’s degree in economics, finance, or other related fields
- Several years of relevant professional experience in the field of insurance regulation, preferably with an insurance supervisory authority or the insurance sector in general
- Working experience in international cooperation would be welcomed
- Strong project management experience
- Strong research, communication and drafting skills
- Excellent interpersonal, liaison and cross-cultural skills
- Business fluent in English, additional German, Spanish and/ or French are an advantage

This job is suited to a full or a part-time position.
The willingness for frequent business trips is required.
