About the Role:
Are you passionate about environmental advocacy and skilled in communications? WWF Australia is seeking a dynamic Advocacy Campaigns Engagement Manager to join their team.
In this role, you will play a critical role in advancing their conservation goals through strategic advocacy and impactful communications by mobilising supporters and stakeholders and contributing to driving brand awareness and the generation of income across the revenue portfolio.
As the Advocacy Campaigns Engagement Manager, you will take the lead in collaborating with the Conservation, Government Relations, and Fundraising teams to create and oversee comprehensive campaign strategies aimed at mobilising supporters. This involves crafting campaign plans, generating campaign briefs for various internal teams and external partners, and collaborating with Fundraising teams to identify opportunities for seamless integration.
This role requires the successful candidate to demonstrate advocacy experience with proven campaign development skills. A deep interest for conservation is a must and exemplary stakeholder engagement skills, to be able to bring people together to reach campaign milestones will also be critical. You will also be a real collaborator and strategic thinker.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and assess engagement strategies and campaigns to support conservation impact, brand strength, supporter engagement and fundraising goals.
- Lead the development and project management of integrated campaign plans to mobile supporters, including preparing plans, campaign briefs and consulting with Revenue teams.
- Act as a crucial liaison between Engagement and Conservation.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of WWF’s conservation goals, public opinions to develop effective engagement and campaign tactics.
- Collaborate internally and externally to utilise existing research or conduct new research to identify trends, behaviours and barriers for campaigns.
- Enhance campaign effectiveness through teamwork, monitoring, evaluation, and data analysis.
- Translate complex conservation issues into compelling campaign narratives aligned with organisational messaging.
- Works with stakeholders to seek opportunities to increase WWF’s reach, influence and impact for priority projects by building strategic partnerships and alliances.
- Engages within relevant parts of the WWF Network to identify and leverage opportunities for campaigning.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must have proven experience in advocacy and campaign development.
- Excellent written, editing, and visual communication skills, with the ability to convey complex content and issues to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated advanced project management and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to be able to influence and negotiate within a cross cultural context.
- Proficiency in using digital communication tools and social media platforms.
- Collaborative and team-oriented with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of environmental issues and a commitment to WWF’s mission.
- A strong interest in environmental conservation, sustainable development, and social justice issues.
