Do you have a Bachelor’s (BA) Degree from a recognized university/college in Journalism, Government, Sociology, or International relations?

 

Do you have experience in Relevant policy, advocacy, or campaigning experience of 5-7 years, preferably in an international NGO out of which 2 years should ideally be supervisory/managerial experience?

 

Do you have experience in Understanding and expertise in the use of media and communications in advocacy and influence programmes?

The Role:

The Advocacy Coordinator will support the core objectives of this refugee leadership project by coordinating the influencing and advocacy components of this project with national-level stakeholders. Key responsibilities will include supporting and coordinating amongst the concerned federal government departments and supporting the advocacy capacities of RLOs and RLGs.S/he will lead engagement for this project as well as advocacy-related events and workshops, while also coordinating the participation of RLOs, RLGs, and LNGOs in different national as well as regional/global level events. national-level campaigning and media

An ideal candidate for the role will also be/have:

possess a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Government, Sociology, International Relations, or related fields, 5-7 years of relevant policy, advocacy, or campaigning experience preferably in an international NGO, expertise in media and communications, excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Amharic, a deep commitment to Oxfam’s values and principles, knowledge of humanitarian leadership and NGO roles, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to provide specialist advice and training, simplify complex issues, promote diversity, and be willing to travel including to medium/high-risk areas.
