The ACT Victims of Crime Commissioner is seeking individuals to join Victim Support ACT’s new Sexual Violence Response team to provide trauma-informed advocacy and support to victim-survivors of sexual violence.
About the role
The Advocate, Sexual Violence Response team will be committed to promoting the recovery of victim-survivors and will work closely with justice agencies, including ACT Policing, the DPP and the Courts, to advocate for the rights and interests of victim-survivors in the justice system in accordance with the Charter of Victims Rights in the Victims of Crime Act 1994. You will also provide administrative and other supports to the rest of the Sexual Violence Response team as required.
This is an exciting new role which requires experience providing supports and services to victim-survivors and/or other vulnerable members of the community.

Eligibility/Other requirements:
- Demonstrated experience delivering trauma-informed services and supports to victim-survivors and/or other vulnerable members of the community.
- Demonstrated, or the ability to quickly obtain, knowledge of the justice system and the roles and responsibilities of justice agencies.
Notes:
This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future similar vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
