About the service:

The Head to Health service model is tailored to the needs of the local community and offers a combination of peer-integrated recovery and clinical support to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress.

Role Overview:

The Service Leader provides practice management and operational support to the Head to Health After-Hours Team and Peer Workers to help them deliver high-quality, evidence-based clinical care. including:

  • Provide instructions, guidance, support and actively work with the team to improve identified skill areas
  • Monitor and review the systems and processes used in the After-Hours Service. Use the collected information to analyse service delivery outcomes and to enhance the effectiveness of clinical support
  • Manage the team’s rosters, administration, and operational needs, in conjunction with the Service Manager
  • Provide direct support to clients as required
  • Ensure team members meet key deliverables as outlined in their individual work plans and position descriptions

Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma or Certificate IV qualification in Mental Health or other related discipline
  • Experience and skills in working with people experiencing mental illness
  • Availability to work extended hours and weekends, with some daytime hours as needed
  • Demonstrated capacity to relate to clients and other stakeholders with dignity and respect
  • Ability to think and act calmly and deal sensitively with distressed people
  • Well-developed judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating a working understanding assessment and care planning
  • Understanding of the principles of duty of care, rights to privacy, and confidentiality
  • Demonstrate effective listening, communication skills, empathy; and the capacity to relate with others with dignity and respect
  • Commitment to professional development and willingness to participate in training as required
  • Ability to implement and facilitate planned activities resulting in greater community access and support
  • Demonstrated communication, problem solving, and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with families, carers, government agencies and community services
  • Demonstrated skills in organisation and time-management, including the ability to work under pressure and balance multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal communication and written skills
  • Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC
  • Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance
