- Adolescent Girls focal point will be responsible for establishing and developing adolescent girls programming within the Women and Girls Community Centers (WGCCs).
- supporting girls to build supportive friendships and solidarity, providing a space where girls are encouraged to think, imagine, create and act and where they can develop confidence and voice. Building their social, health and economic assets will enable girls to process their experiences and be empowered to make informed choices about their life, and enhance their safety and security.
- support and equip adolescent girls in refugees, IDPs camps and in host communities with the skills and experiences necessary to make healthy, strategic life choices as well as promote the safety, prevention of and response to violence against adolescent girls.
- Participate in assessments, and contribute to the overall intervention strategy based on feedback received from girls throughout the AG programming.
- Strictly adhere to GBV guiding principle while engaging with AG and their parents/care givers.
- Supervise and capacitate local community and refugee mentors formally and informally to provide quality life skill sessions through training, daily mentoring, weekly meeting, and applying regular knowledge and skills assessment tools.
- In collaboration with other staff and community leaders, develop a selection criterion of adolescent girls to engage them in adolescent girl’s toolkit curriculum sessions.
- Under the supervision and support of AG manage, the AG focal point will conduct Adolescent Girls Programming related capacity building trainings for mentors, community leaders, implementing partners and parents/care givers,
- Directly engage with adolescent girls and parents as required, and work with mentors to ensure the quality of the program.
- Build a relationship with all relevant GBV program stakeholders, community leaders, and parents/care givers in the camps and local community to encourage greater communication, collaboration and coordination.
- Work on the start-up and implementation of the girls-only groups and activities, ensuring groups are formed in a safe, comfortable, and confidential manner and environment.
- 12.Ensure that the resources developed for adolescent girls, and any activities and programming have a psychosocial and well-being component, and that girls in the program are provided with strong and regular psychosocial support.
- 13.Closely work with female community mobilizers for outreach and awareness raising at community-level, and get their support in the facilitation of relevant activities.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Qualifications:
- -Proven practical work experience with adolescent girls on iss GBV and gender issues.
- -Proven experience and skills working with/engaging communities, especially adolescent girls/young women, using highly participatory, creative/innovative, inclusive and sustainable approaches
- -Demonstrated ability to motivate, mobilize, energize, and inspire others, especially young people
- -Excellent practical individual and group facilitation skills, that respect professional boundaries, with diverse individuals and groups
- -Clear understanding of and interest in the wellbeing of women and girls, and supporting their healing after the experience of violence; human rights, gender
- -Understanding of case management, psychosocial support and life skills programming to promote.
- -Demonstrated understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for beneficiaries.
- -Excellent listening and effective communication skills
- -Computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel
- -Fluency in Arabic required, knowledge of English would be an asset.
