Agricultural expert

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments of agricultural and agribusiness value chains to identify constraints and opportunities.

• Design and implement interventions to enhance productivity, sustainability, and profitability across selected value chains.

• Support capacity building of farmers, agribusinesses, and local institutions through training, mentoring, and technical assistance.

• Facilitate market linkages and partnerships between producers, processors, and buyers.

• Promote climate-smart and sustainable agriculture practices.

• Support the development of business plans, financial models, and investment strategies for agribusinesses.

• Collaborate with government agencies, and development partners to align strategies and leverage resources.

• Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, ensuring documentation and reporting are timely and accurate.

• Provide policy recommendations for improving the enabling environment for agribusiness and rural development.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• University educated.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in planning, management, and coordination.

• Proven experience in implementing projects.
• Experience working in the humanitarian / development sector, able to perform and deliver in a timely manner.
• Knowledge and experience in working with UN agencies, International Organizations are an asset.
• Knowledge of climate change, environmental sustainability, and experience working with advocacy and/or education projects are strong assets.
• Fluency in both English and Arabic.
