Job Summary
In direct support of the Deputy Director, the Agriculture Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the Agriculture Livelihoods Component of the project. In this role, the Agriculture Coordinator will conduct site visits of beneficiary greenhouses analyzing the most strategic agricultural opportunities for individual families and managing the issuance of agriculture inputs. The Agriculture Coordinator is also responsible for site greenspaces including but not limited to gardens, open plots, and trees. The role entails overseeing 3 Agriculture Officers and a gardening team (4 staff). The Agriculture Coordinator will be responsible for reporting data on activities and offering inputs for reporting requirements. Duties include assessing livelihoods needs, research on new techniques, and the day to day management of resources such as irrigation water, warehouses, and team management.
Job Duties:
- Provide technical assistance on agriculture and basic business practices while also serving as a general resource for beneficiaries.
- Further develop beneficiaries livelihood and agriculture plans through direct consultation with the beneficiary.
- Organize and oversee community focus group discussions to chart plan for future programming related to agriculture and livelihoods.
- Supervise and build the capacity of the 3 Agriculture Officers, helping to foster a strong, cooperative team.
- Regularly report on program activities and data to Deputy Director including conducting baseline and end-line surveys, focus groups, and follow-up visits.
- Effectively coordinate with multiple departments: security, logistics, human resources, finance, warehouse and other programs to further relevant program activities.
- Interface with local authorities on the implementation of program activities, ensuring committee support and buy-in.
- Work with in-country and international agriculture and livelihoods technical advisors to ensure technically sound agriculture programming.
- Work with the Marketing Officer and beneficiaries to identify suitable markets to sell vegetables.
- Coordinate community asset sharing between families including machines, groves, and irrigation lines.
- Monitor and implement a watering schedule for 150 greenhouses.
- Ensure proper trainings are conducted for applying fertilizers, pesticides, and nutrients for 150 greenhouses.
- Develop planting schedules for a variety of greenhouse vegetables.
- Conduct market research and assessments to analyze supply and demand trends for greenhouse crops.
- Work with procurement teams for purchasing of agriculture inputs (tenders).
- Maintain project greenspaces through management of a gardening team.
- Complete other activities and reports as directed by the Deputy Director.

Education / Experience Needed
- Degree in agriculture or livelihoods or related field with at least two years of relevant experience. Experience working with NGOs highly preferred. Management experience required.
