Job Description:

Oversee the activity implementations in line with the Work Plan (DIP), Budget and M&E framework in close coordination with consortium members specially Mercy corps P1 Lead

Enforce stewardship and accountability by ensuring that resources are effectively and efficiently utilized through activity implementation for achieving purpose 1 outcomes.

Maintain good relationship and coordination with local agricultural authorities including MoA, IPAPEL ITAPEL and with relevant Food and Input Market System Stockholders to enhance farmer organization groups product commercialization in Kasai.

Provide any support (training / coach-up sessions) to P1 team and follow-up its performance throughout activity implementing and obtained results.

Ensure P1 activities are gender sensitives and child protection standards are adhered to and they are adequately integrated into programming for community transformation.

Ensure data are properly and timely collected and submitted to RFSA server for analyze and demonstrate program progress to reach P1 purpose.

Ensure that MEAL recommendations are timely responded to, fully implemented and progress is reported quarterly

Prepare quality and timely submitted monthly, quarterly, annual projects/programs narrative reports

Support the development of a solid learning program to accumulate

evidence on resilient agriculture and Market development system approaches and share/disseminate with appropriate stakeholders.

Participate in collaboration, learning and adaptation (CLA) events with

the program team and relevant stakeholders, in accordance with the toolkit

USAID CLA.

Contribute to the design and implementation of robust CLA approaches and processes,

ensure the use of existing evidence to promote performance improvement,

collaboration, learning and adaptation, and identify solutions to promote uptake

data-driven decision-making among program and technical staff.

Other Competencies/Attributes:

  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Minimum Qualification required: Bachelor degree in Economics, Agriculture, Development studies/planning, Social Science or another related field.
  • Experience Technical Skills & Abilities:
  • 2 years in Market system project management
  • At least 5 years of continuous experience in technical design and implementation of
  • agriculture and livelihood programs, including experience
  • proven track record in leading large-scale agricultural and resource-related programs
  • livelihoods aimed at improving food, nutritional and economic security through
  • agricultural production and household resilience.
  • Technical expert in agricultural programming (crops and livestock), including agricultural systems
  • seeds, market systems and environmental and cultural constraints of
  • agriculture.
  • Technical knowledge of savings and capital programming and activities
  • income-generating activities (AGR).
  • Proven experience in implementing interventions for development and
  • improving sustainable livelihoods, including livelihoods on
  • exploitation, off-farm and/or non-agricultural, from self-employment to the creation of small
  • businesses.
  • Proven experience in creating effective links with the private sector.
  • Computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in supervision
  • Experience in working with donor funds, sponsorship operations and grants funding.

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and other stakeholders
