The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications, and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

Why do we need this role?

We have been listening to our community and stakeholders, and we know we need to be better at engaging.  The ‘NRAS Strategy 2020-2025’ aims to respond by building trust and confidence in us as the regulator. Now is the time for us to move this work forward and you might be the person to help us.

This is a full-time, fixed term role of approximately 12 months, with a combination of office days and work from home – the best of both worlds!

Ahpra requires all employees to comply with Ahpra policies, which includes the Flexible working policy.

Who are we looking for?

Your skills extend beyond a traditional “Executive Assistant” role – because this isn’t an EA role! You facilitate engagement and partnership with internal and external stakeholders in line with Ahpra’s national goals.

You will have a good understanding of project coordination and event management (again, a part of the role) as well as the ability to build internal knowledge and relationships. You will have a demonstrated ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement, and resolve issues independently in a complex environment, while effectively prioritising and managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

You embody our values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, and Achievement, which in turn builds on the trust and credibility you will develop with key stakeholders.

We are seeking someone with strong experience providing high level, professional, and confidential secretariat support, with great interpersonal skills and a passion for turning what we hear into action.

With a broad range of community groups, employers, and peak bodies in SA you will be involved in helping deliver our Engagement Strategy and to understand what our community needs from their health regulator.

This role is yours to own, working with people committed to the protection of the public through empathetic regulation of 16 registered health professions.

You can read more in the attached role description: Engagement Liaison Officer (RD Final).pdf.

What do we offer?

Our Adelaide office, located on the land of the Kaurna people, is a strong, diverse team built on its ability to respond to organisational needs and keep its people front and centre.  You will be part of a national organisation with offices and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in each of Australia’s capital cities.

We are proud to have a friendly and supportive working culture that encourages genuine work/life balance and flexibility. We have a hybrid blend of work from home and office based – the best of both worlds to encourage collaboration within our teams.

Your health and well-being are important – we offer discounts on Health Insurance (Medibank), annual flu vaccinations, and provide access to an Employee Assistance Program.

We offer an attractive salary of $85,047 per annum plus Superannuation, with annual leave loading and generous provisions for personal leave.
