AIB is hiring a Communications and Policy Officer to join our team. We are looking for a creative, driven individual with experience in EU policy communications.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure clear and effective communication between the association’s different organs;
  • Analyze the existing regulatory framework for energy origin tracking and its ongoing developments, and translate this information into actionable insights for AIB members;
  • Identify common ground and define the next steps in a roadmap based on internal and external developments, ensuring alignment with all stakeholders;
  • Develop engaging content for various communication platforms;
  • Plan and implement communication campaigns;
  • Support digital analytics and assess the effectiveness of communication channels;
  • Maintain and update the association’s website;
  • Contribute to our work with ideas and insights;
  • Generate and analyze website visitor reports and provide insights;
  • Assist in event planning and coordination.

Your profile:

  • Based in Brussels; eligible to work in the EU;
  • 2-3 years of experience in EU policy communications with a strong understanding of EU policymaking;
  • Qualification in European policy, public affairs, or communications;
  • Excellent English content creation skills, able to simplify complex ideas for diverse audiences;
  • Creative thinker with strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Self-motivated, stress-resistant and able to work independently;
  • A collaborative team player.

Distinct advantages – proven previous experience:

  • Developing communication content, such as visuals, factsheets, infographics, podcasts, newsletters, analysis, articles, and videos;
  • Using platforms like WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva, Google Analytics, and YouTube;
  • Managing social media, including LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and Threads;
  • Working in the energy sector;
  • Engaging with EU institutions or international affairs.

The Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB) is an international non-profit organisation bringing together the European issuing bodies of energy attribute tracking systems for all energy carriers and technologies, being the organisations appointed by their national government to administer a system of guarantees of origin.

Together with our members, AIB manages the European Energy Certificate System (EECS), which is a standard for energy certification. AIB facilitates European transfers of such certificates by operating a Hub for international transfers of energy certificates between the registries of our members. We strive for harmonisation of rules and practices and operate a quality assurance framework for managing energy certificate systems in Europe. We cooperate and exchange expertise with and between issuing bodies and disclosure bodies, market parties and other stakeholders and transparently provides market activity information and expert information.
