Job Description:The Airside Safety Improvement Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing airside safety protocols and reducing incidents. This position requires a strategic approach to develop a robust safety culture, analysing data trends and fostering a collaborative environment. You will also be responsible for coordinating a comprehensive safety improvement program and targeting a 50% reduction in road traffic collisions over the nest 5 years.Through attentive improvement activities, stakeholder engagement and a commitment to culture change the Airside Safety Improvement Manager ensures a seamless integration of safety improvements across all areas of airside operations, including Team Heathrow Partners.Responsibilities:
- Working closely with key stakeholders to assess risks and develop strategies.
- Being responsible for ensuring all airside operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Identifying and assessing risks associated with airside operations.
- Developing and implementing safety improvement programmes and initiates.
- Conducting safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Providing guidance and training to employees and stakeholders on safety procedures and protocols.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
- Leading the airside safety weeks.
- Manage a small team of 4 Airside Safety Improvement Officers.
Qualifications:
- Project/ Program management experience.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety improvement programmes.
- Highly skilled airside safety professional with a passion for improving safety.
- Good working knowledge of regulatory environment under which Heathrow operates, and practical application of relevant documentation, such as that produced by EASA and the CAA as well as DVLA and HSE.
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal and able to compose high quality formal documentation.
- Holds a UK driving licence.
Ideally you will have:
- Ideally be experienced in Airside Operations, or other complex, multi-faceted operational environments.
