The Opportunity
IPC Health have partnered with Western Health and the Royal Children’s Hospital to co-design and lead the Brimbank Melton Children’s Health and Wellbeing Local (previously referred to as Hub).
The Local will provide support for infants, children and families, delivering services like psychology, psychiatry, allied health, family supports and paediatricians. People with lived experience will also form an important part of the Local’s workforce. The service will support children aged 0-11 who are experiencing developmental, behavioural or emotional challenges and their families, and will focus on early intervention and providing age-appropriate care.
Allied Health Clinicians will play an integral part in this Local delivering family centred, holistic and timely care within a multi-disciplinary team.
With your clinical expertise and experience in conducting holistic wellbeing assessments, you will engage with families who may be experiencing disadvantage or life challenges to achieve their wellbeing goals. You will be key to supporting families as they access services in the Local, care planning, capacity building through a strengths based approach to empower families and safety and risk assessments. With a continuous quality improvement focus, you will be part of the evolution of the Local and collaborate with a variety of services to improve social, emotional and physical determinants of health of infants, children and families.
This opportunity is a Fixed Term (funding based activity – project) role until 30 June 2024. This role is flexible to consider Full Time or Part Time with a minimum 0.4FTE commitment. The role is classified under either enterprise agreements depending on experience, qualifications and relevant discipline –
- the Victorian Stand Alone Community Health Centres, Health Professionals Multi-Employer Agreement 2022-2026; or
- Psychologists, Dietitians, Audiologists And Pharmacists (Victorian Stand-Alone Community Health Services) Enterprise Agreement 2023-2026.
You will make a difference by

- Facilitating smooth transitions and meaningful connections with other Practitioners that help families achieve their goals.
- Being an active participant in the co-design, implementation and scale up of the Child and Family Health and Wellbeing Local.
- Being responsive to the changing needs of children and families.
- Providing supports through tele or digital health or at local services that families are accessing.
To succeed you will need
- Tertiary qualification in either Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Psychology (Educational and Developmental) or Dietetics; with valid AHPRA registration or membership with Speech Pathology Australia/Dietitians Australia; and demonstrated experience working in paediatric allied health.
- Proven experience and knowledge in discipline specific and other developmental assessments and strength based approaches to therapy.
- Experience working with diverse families and disadvantaged communities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to competently develop, implement and review evidence-based interventions.
- Current and valid Victorian Working with Children’s Check and driver’s licence.
