Reporting jointly to the two Directors of College Success, the Alumni Program Coordinator will be responsible for general program coordination and support of the college success programs in the Emma Bloomberg Center, including, but not limited to, the Freshman Scholars Institute, FSI Online, and the Scholars Institute Fellows Program. Specifically, program coordination and assistance may include developing and implementing co-curricular and academic programming and events with internal and external partners; supporting large and small-scale event and program logistics; leading workshops; and general office support. Please note that this role requires regular evening and weekend work (schedule to be determined with the supervisor).
This is a full-time position with a 3-year term appointment.
Co-Curricular Event/Activity Coordination for the Freshman Scholars Institute (FSI) and Scholars Institute Fellows Program (SIFP):
Liaise with offices, departments, and programs across campus, as well as alumni, to help plan and execute a slate of cocurricular programming, workshops, and activities for the Freshman Scholars and SIFP fellows. Recruit and support workshop and activity leaders and take on facilitation of workshops as appropriate. Manage these events through room booking and food ordering. Under the directors supervision, ensure the adequate assessment and revision of this curriculum.
Academic Affairs Coordination for FSI, FSI Online, and SIFP:
Under the Director for College Success, Academic Affairs, help coordinate and support academic enrichment programming, like faculty meetings and dinners, study tables and groups, and special precepts. Recruit student participants, help run student focus groups to source needs, and ensure the adequate assessment and revision of activities. During the FSI and FSI online programs, support the Director in the logistical elements of course delivery, including the Course Fellow Program, faculty training, and course support. As necessary and appropriate, support the build-out of online course and academic materials.
Outreach and Alumni Engagement:
Under the direction of the Director for College Success, Student Engagement, supervise the student workers in the Community Ambassador program, developing and maintaining outreach inititatives and creating and executing community-building events for the SIFP community. Recruit, train, and manage payroll/oversight of these student workers. Ensure appropriate professional development of this student staff and that they are operating according to Center goals and standards.
Create and maintain a database of SIFP and FSI program alumni and help with outreach and communication initiatives to support their engagement, including large annual events like Fli Reunions and Networking Events.
Student Recruitment, Onboarding, and Mentorship:
Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of student participants in the FSI, FSI Online, and SIFP programs, including but not limited to the annual process of reading student files for invitation to EBCAO summer programs and facilitating the annual SIFP kickoff.
Provide ongoing near-peer mentorship for program participants, holding 1:1s and group discussions under the direction of the program Directors.
Help the Communications Associate with the logistical and creative support for the Fli Tiger and Friends program, which connects students with alumni mentors.
General Center-wide Administrative Support:
Serve on the Center’s general administrative team, attending weekly administrative meetings and supporting as necessary with Center-wide operational tasks, events, and activities.
