Position Summary
The Land Stewardship Analyst is a dynamic position working with data and policies within the division. While tasks and projects are regularly assigned, this position is responsible for being self-directed, organized, and strategic in bringing an assignment to completion. The ability to work independently and collaborate with others is essential.
This role is a member of, and works closely with, the division’s Administrative Operations team. This team supports the work of the division in budgeting, billing, hiring, timekeeping, training, responding to public inquiries, partner and volunteer management, and the daily operations of on-site staff.
The Land Stewardship division manages Portland’s parks, trails, natural areas, and community gardens, which are essential spaces that support healthy, connected communities. The division provides maintenance, environmental stewardship, and programming that promotes physical, mental, and social well-being across the city.
As a Land Stewardship Analyst, you will work on:
Program and Data Management:
Lead the review, monitoring, and evaluation of developed parks, assets, and operational programs.
Manage complex data systems for analysis, reporting, and decision-making, utilizing advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL, and budgetary software.
Policy, Project, and Grant Oversight
Oversee the planning, implementation, and reporting of policies, special projects, and grant-funded initiatives, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, timelines, and performance metrics.
Development and Implementation of Best Practices
Design, document, and update operational best management practices in collaboration with subject matter experts, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality standards across park operations.
Strategic Planning and Documentation
Coordinate and contribute to strategic planning efforts, including program planning, document control, file migration, and the creation of operational guidance materials for division and cross-departmental use.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
Facilitate communication and coordination with internal teams, leadership, external partners, and other stakeholders to support program goals, policy development, and project execution.
Communications and Reporting
Prepare and deliver clear, timely, and accurate reports, articles, and data summaries for internal and external audiences, highlighting division-wide impact and supporting transparency in operations.
