The team leads regulatory horizon scanning activity globally and manages abrdn’s groupwide framework for regulatory change.About the RoleAs the Regulatory Developments Analyst you will get the opportunity to build expertise in key areas of asset and wealth management regulation; support and advise colleagues across the group and our key regions (UK, EMEA, APAC and the Americas); build your knowledge of the business; and help to ensure that abrdn and stays ahead of the curve on implementation and regulatory compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesLeading horizon scanning and analysis on funds, markets and conduct regulation:
- Using and developing strong expertise on key regulatory files – including AIFMD, UCITS, MiFID, sustainability and prudential rules – to identify and diagnose material regulatory developments for abrdn.
- Providing timely and concise regulatory summaries and updates to colleagues across the group.
Supporting subject matter experts across the firm on key developments, impact assessments and consultations:
- Maintaining a strong awareness and understanding of abrdn’s key businesses in the UK and EMEA and building and leveraging a wide network of business contacts to mobilise action.
- Working closely with SMEs to support thorough impact assessment of key regulatory developments and tracking of required actions for implementation.
- Working with the Public Affairs team to coordinate abrdn responses to key regulatory consultations.
Supporting consistent global application of the groups model for end-to-end regulatory change:
- Production and analysis of periodic MI and reporting on regulatory change activity across the group.
- Working with colleagues in Regulatory Developments and across the regions to track progress of regulatory change activity across the group, identifying and escalating issues if required to Chief Compliance Officers.
- Working with the groups internal business change hub to maintain an overview of major regulatory change activity in train and ensure timely scoping and mobilisation of large-scale regulatory projects.
About the Candidate
- Good understanding of large, diverse financial services businesses.
- The ability to interpret financial regulation and distil likely commercial and operational
- impacts.
- Proven ability to communicate the impact of regulatory developments to a range of senior internal and external stakeholders in a concise and articulate manner.
- Good understanding of current and emerging regulatory compliance market trends, methods and tools.
