Result of Service

Successful candidate should provide a comprehensive and impartial analysis on current economic and political situation in Belarus by 31 December 2023. The analysis should include but not limited to: the activity of main actors in the country, their consequential decisions and initiatives, important statistics, current economic developments, overview of changes in legislation, human rights developments, developments in Belarus’ relations with international partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework Guidance, the UNCT annually conducts a Common Country Analysis, which also includes an overview of the political context in the country, as relevant to the SDGs. On another note, while a yearly overview of the country context is necessary, periodic analysis is also required to inform the day-to-day work of the UN in the country. Hence, the objective of the current consultancy is the development of quality context updates and analysis required for the UNCT to deliver results and fulfill its mandate. .

Qualifications/special skills

Masters or Equivalent in Economics, Politics and Communication is required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in providing political and economic analytic is required.

Languages

English and French are the two working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of English, Russian and Belarusian is required.
