The Engineering Technology Analytics System Engineer position will lead and define the direction of UNSW Engineering Technology analytic systems infrastructure providing data to inform building operational and strategic asset management planning by Estate Management. Engineering Technology encompasses all Operational Technology including Building Management Systems, Monitoring and Surveillance Systems, Life Safety Systems, Process Control Systems, Analytics Platforms, Internet of Things (IoT) platforms and Information Communication and Technology Networks. The relevance of Engineering Technology has increased in its application for UNSW and is considered a growth sector for Smart, Safe and Healthy Campuses. The role of the Engineering Technology Analytic Systems Engineer reports to the Senior Manager of Engineering Technology and has no direct reports.

Who You Are

  • Relevant Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic) or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and experience.
  • Extensive experience in the field of Operational Technology design and/or operations in Tertiary Education, Major Hospital or Commercial Precinct environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the project management of Operational Technology contractors, contract administration, works programs, work assessments, quality assurance, commissioning, and cost control.
  • Proven experience in Engineering Technology data management and analysis.
  • Experience in cloud-based systems integration and data management.
  • Experience in the management of Work Health and Safety issues relating to building services construction, operation and maintenance, with particular emphasis on protection of public health.
  • Working knowledge of IT communications systems, network architecture and systems integration.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and experience in researching, analysing, and preparing succinct engineering reports.
  • Capacity to establish, build and maintain strong professional relationships within a diverse environment.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
