Position description

The Department of Political Science at Bryn Mawr College seeks an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in the Humanities and Humanistic Studies for the academic year 2025-2026 beginning August 1, 2025. The fellowship is renewable for a second year. This is a combined teaching and research fellowship, with the expectation that the fellow will teach two courses each year. Candidates must have a completed Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field by the start date.

The Political Science Department seeks a postdoctoral fellow with research strongly rooted in U.S. politics, including (but not limited to) American political development, political culture, power structures, race, or law. Comparative approaches using the United States as a central case would also be welcome. We are especially interested in fellows who can contribute to interdisciplinary growth in areas such as Migration Studies, Carceral Studies, or Queer Studies but would be open to a variety of other focus areas. This position will offer substantial time to devote to research. In addition, the postdoc will have faculty mentorship to support this research. The fellow would teach one 200-level course as well as a 300-level seminar, both of their own design. In the second year, Fellows may repeat these courses or offer new ones.
