We have a number of vacancies for an AOD Support Worker to join our team at Maryknoll Therapeutic Community on a casual basis. You can build your ideal roster as the positions work across a 24 – hour clock and may involve day, evening, weekend, sleep over and overnight stand-up work.
The role
As our AOD Support Worker you will take pride in creating a safe and welcoming space for clients engaged in the AOD withdrawal program. Beyond administrative tasks, this role involves caring for residents, facilitating group sessions, accompanying clients to appointments, and keeping thorough records. If you’re passionate about applying your expertise in AOD and making a meaningful impact, this role in our purpose-driven non-profit organisation could be a perfect fit for you.
What we’re looking for:
- Emotional maturity and a calm demeanour, especially in high-pressure or conflict situations.
- Experience working within the AOD or mental health sector and ability to navigate and understand AOD services.
- Case management skills and ability to write clear and professional case notes/handover notes and other essential documentation.
- Certificate IV (Four AOD Competencies for applicants with health-related degrees) or Diploma in AOD and Mental Health or the capacity to complete studies whilst in employment.
