Physical Requirements | The physical requirements for this position include regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with repetitive motion (such as typing); occasionally pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects up to 50lbs; communicating effectively with individuals at various levels across the Enterprise; and occasionally traveling for job-related purposes (less than 10%of the time). |
Shift | Monday through Friday 8:am-5:00pm, however as an exempt-level position, additional hours will be required as needed to perform job duties. This position will also include on-call coverage that may include weekends and holidays. This is a hybrid position. |
Job Summary | The University of Kentucky Healthcare (UKHC) Enterprise is seeking an Application Development Programmer III. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in all areas of the software development life cycle (planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance) to develop application solutions for departments & units within UKHC. They will possess strong communication skills; in-depth experience with numerous development languages; have experience developing and supporting custom applications in an enterprise environment; and have experience participating in team-based development. Primary duties include developing applications in asp.net/C#/SQL, UI design, and debugging and enhancing existing code. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the timely and accurate estimation of development requests; performing code peer review; performing unit and system testing; and assisting in setting development standards. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | The ideal candidate will have experience in Microsoft Visual Studio; ASP.NET; Entity Framework; Data Modeling; HTML/CSS; JavaScript; VB.NET/C#; LINQ; SQL Server; SQL queries; Git; and various frontend frameworks. |

Preferred Education/Experience | Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of information technology experience in an enterprise environment preferred. |
