Job description
Are you an active and engaged health consumer or advocate with lived experience who can represent the interests of the community?
- Join a well-respected and effective advisory council that provides Ahpra and the National Boards with advice and connection with communities and health consumers
- Help shape important standards regulating health practitioners, how Ahpra engages with consumers, and provide consumer perspectives and advice on relevant issues
Ahpra works in partnership with 15 National Boards to regulate more than 875,000 registered health practitioners and over 180,000 registered students across 16 health professions.
The National Scheme has an important role in ensuring the development of a culturally safe and respectful health workforce that is responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples health and contributes to the elimination of racism in the provision of health services.
To achieve this, we have committed to increasing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leadership and voices in the National Scheme and warmly invite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to apply.
We are also committed to increasing diversity and social inclusion. Applications are strongly encouraged from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, young people, people with a disability, LGBTIQA+ and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Applications are sought from consumers nationwide.
