Your role will be to carry out the administration function for the Maintenance Department as directed by the Senior Maintenance Administrator.   • Offering valuable office support to ensure smooth interactions between our staff and customers.
  • Keeping files and business activity records well-organized
  • Utilizing strong organizational skills to manage appointments and documentation for the team.
  • Arranging and coordinating meetings as needed.
  • Overseeing office management tasks such as managing stationery and office supplies, handling incoming and outgoing post, and booking travel and accommodation.
  • Performing administrative tasks like managing purchase orders, processing engineer quotations, updating jobs in Sage, liaising with suppliers for current prices, and maintaining the estimating sheet with current manufacturers’ price listings.
  • Supporting health and safety measures by conducting sub-contractor audits and annual assessments and managing PPE.
  • Utilizing various Systems & Software Packages, including Microsoft packages.

How you will do it:

  • On-the-Job Work Experience: You’ll spend significant time at our client sites, where you will get the opportunity to put into practice skills learned at college in a real world setting.
  • Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll work closely with qualified Johnson Controls Employees who will serve as mentors, guiding you in developing your design skills. This collaborative environment ensures that you receive the support and guidance needed to succeed in your role.
  • You will be enrolled on a Level 4 qualification that you will study alongside your new role. You’ll enjoy the full support of your mentor and our dedicated apprentice training team.
  • Opportunities for Growth: Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll have the opportunity to grow and apply the skills and knowledge gained in college in a real workplace setting. This experiential learning approach ensures that you develop both technical competencies and practical skills essential for success.

Training and Qualifications:

  • You will be enrolled on a level 5 Business Administration apprenticeship. Further progression is available post obtaining your level 5 qualification.
  • Travel and Accommodation: If you’re required to stay away from home for college or work-related purposes, the company will cover the costs of travel, accommodation, and meals. This ensures that you can focus on your education and training without financial burden.

Career Progression:

  • Upon completion, a number of internal opportunities within the company will be available to you. All of our apprentices immediately move into full time permanent positions.

Qualifications Required:

  • National 5 in English
  • National 5 in Math’s

Desired Skills and Personal Qualities:

  • Confident in IT with a good working knowledge of all Microsoft packages
  • A self-starter, highly motivated and strong team-player who is flexible and also able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Organised with excellent time-keeping skills and good time-management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to develop excellent Client/supplier working relationships.

What happens next?

  • Suitable candidates will have a screening call with a recruiter to discuss the position and provide necessary documentation. Afterward, you will be invited to an assessment center in May, assessment centers typically include a combination of activities such as group problem-solving tasks, individual interviews, and presentations.
  • Within 48 hours of the assessment center, candidates will receive a response regarding the outcome of their application. If successful, they can begin the apprenticeship in August.
