Freedom Environmental Land Management are currently recruiting a Arboricultural / Senior Arb
Consultant to be based from Home, or hybrid working from one of our offices if preferred, with
occasional travel required across the England and Scotland.

The Arboricultural Consultant will be a key part of the strong delivery team, working closely
with the Environmental Land Management Senior Partner, providing technical oversight and
delivery of tree assessments and related land management activities across multiple work
streams.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include: 

  • Providing tree advice across multiple work streams and landholdings related to tree
    assessment and management, environmental land management, development, and health and safety.
  • Producing tree risk management surveys and reports using QTRA or other recognised systems.
  • Carrying out tree health surveys, hazard assessment, visual tree inspection and risk
    assessment surveys and reports for developers, utilities, and other corporate organisations.
  • Undertaking arboricultural surveys and provide advice to a range of clients in relation to
    the requirements of BS5837:2012, including advising on project design, right through to
    overseeing implementation of works.
  • Managing and servicing on-site implementation of arboricultural works including the
    supervision of contractors.
  • Undertaking arboricultural surveys for utilities and landowners using the principles of
    tree assessments and specify the necessary work on individual or groups of trees in accordance
    with BS3998:2010.
  • Understanding, writing and reviewing risk assessment and method statements for safe site
    work.

What we’re looking for:

  • Arboricultural degree or a recognised arboricultural qualification at Level 3 or above
  • Membership of the Arboricultural Association or other related, professional body
  • Relevant tree survey experience within a consultancy or other commercial environment
  • Experience of undertaking tree hazard/condition surveys using QTRA, or similar, and
    development surveys in accordance with BS5837:2012
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills; be able to produce meticulous and
    accurate technical reports as well as communicate confidently with clients and stakeholders.
  • Lantra Professional Tree Inspection certificate – desirable
  • Licensed QTRA tree risk assessor – desirable
  • Full UK driving licence – essential
