Opportunity:
As the Area Finance and Administrative Director, you will manage the complex financial, administrative, and personnel functions for the system-wide University Marketing and Communications area. You will serve as the principal consultant and advisor to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications on a full range of management issues, in addition to working with directors and managers throughout the area. You will participate in the development and implementation of strategic financial and business plans; develop and implement area-level policies and procedures to address operational needs and efficiencies; and collaborate with the Vice President, managers, directors, and Human Resources on area personnel matters. You will also supervise the area’s finance, administrative services, and IT support team.
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime exempt.
This position works on-site on the WSU Pullman campus. After an initial training and onboarding period, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, to be discussed during the recruitment process.
Monthly Salary: $5,485.73 – $8,400 tendersglobal.net In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in a related administrative, business, liberal arts, or social sciences discipline and five (5) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Experience in detailed accounting and financial reporting including computerized management of financial records.
Demonstrated ability to develop and use budget templates and databases using software programs such as Word and Excel.
Demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously in an organized manner.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated success working as a team member in a diverse group.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in accounting or relevant field.
CPA or other relevant license/certification.
Experience with fund accounting.
Advanced skills in Excel, Access, and Workday.
Demonstrated understanding of financially self-sustaining organizations.
Familiarity with WSU or other higher education institution financial policies and procedures.
Familiarity with WSU or other higher education institution personnel policies and procedures.
Ability to effectively interact with external partners and vendors.
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively when dealing with complex, detail-oriented financial tasks, and tight deadlines.
