About the role

Trust for Nature is seeking an experienced and driven Area Manager to join our Senior Management Team. Reporting to the Director of Regional Delivery, you will play a crucial role in delivering important conservation initiatives in the South West area of Victoria, including throughout the Wimmera and Glenelg-Hopkins catchments.

In this key leadership position, you will lead and support a team that delivers Trust for Nature’s conservation programs and projects. You will also focus on cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing funding partners, leveraging opportunities to secure funding and drive the expansion of our statewide conservation goals.

This role offers a full-time base salary range of $110,000 p.a., plus superannuation. This is an ongoing full-time position, open to part time (minimum 4 days) with work-from-home arrangements. The role is based in Horsham office and requires travel throughout Victoria, therefore a valid drivers licence and access to a vehicle are required.

About you

We are searching for an experienced people leader who brings;

  • A degree in environmental science, natural resource management, or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years+ of experience working in the environmental sector with a strong understanding of conservation principles.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing teams.
  • Experience managing projects, including scoping, grant writing, negotiation, planning, implementation, delivery, and evaluation.
  • Proven ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of financial and resource management principles and the ability to track budgets.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic projects aligned with core business.
  • Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience leading a team of people to work safely and in line with an organisation’s OHS system.
  • IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce, and GIS Software.
