Offer Description

The computer science department of Telecom SudParis, member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (France), is hiring an Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure track) in software engineering and middleware for distributed systems.

This position aims to strengthen our ability to address the new challenges brought by next generation digital infrastructures, in terms of the heterogeneity and volatility of computing nodes, the volume of data continuously produced and the energy consumption. The complexity, heterogeneity and dynamicity inherent in new distributed hardware and software infrastructures make code difficult to write and maintain. It is therefore essential to propose new middleware, abstractions and models to simplify the design and development of distributed applications using a software engineering approach.
The candidate must have strong skills in one or more of the following research topics related to dynamic and heterogeneous distributed systems:

Software engineering, model-driven engineering, formal methods;

Microservice-based software architectures, middleware;

IoT/Cloud/Fog/Edge computing continuum: self-adaptive and autonomic systems and,

Digital sobriety and energy efficiency.

The targeted applications include crosswise use cases involving smart cities, healthcare area, etc.
