The University of North Georgia (UNG) is currently accepting applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in the Department of Political Science and International Affairs (PSIA). The successful candidate may teach on multiple campuses as the schedule might require but their primary teaching responsibility will be on the Dahlonega campus and supporting the International Affairs degree on the Cumming campus. The Department is seeking a faculty member with an international relations focus who specializes in security studies


  • Teaching 12 hours per semester (4/4; undergraduate and graduate courses) including core classes for the department. 
  • This position will be required to teach U.S. National Security at the undergraduate and possibly in out online graduate program along with POLS 2401 Global Issues which is our introduction to international relations class. 


The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in political science, international relations/affairs or related field.
Preference will be given to those candidates who could also teach international relations theory, comparative military policy, or other classes within international relations. 
1) Have previous teaching experience
2) A willingness to engage in on-line instruction        
3) Have an active research agenda and have the potential to contribute to both graduate and undergraduate programs within the department.
    must have a successful teaching background and must submit teaching evaluations.
