Lochaber Fisheries and Conservation Trust is a charity dedicated to supporting sustainable wild
fish populations and freshwater habitats across Lochaber, in the West Highlands.
We are seeking a full-time, permanent assistant biologist to help us deliver our fisheries
management work, meeting our objectives to conserve wild fish populations across the region.
Based at our office in Torlundy, Fort William, you will be part of a small team developing and
delivering monitoring programmes to protect and enhance wild fish populations.
We are looking for someone with practical experience of fisheries monitoring and management,
aquatic habitat management and an understanding of factors affecting wild fish populations.
Experience surveying salmon and trout populations and knowledge of salmonid biology would be an
advantage.
The trust is looking to recruit a motivated and hard-working individual who is enthusiastic,
aspires to develop and works well within a small team. The successful candidate will need to
have a flexible approach as some evening and weekend working will be required. A full UK
driving licence will be required.
